In their last house, Heather felt the pendant lights over the kitchen island bench were wasted. “It was more of a prep area, so this time around we decided to have them over the dining table where we’ll often sit with friends after dinner and play cards or board games,” she explains. The ‘Hanging Ball Lamps’ in Natural Wicker from House Of Orange also help to fill the spacious open-plan area and balance the polished concrete floors (right). “I love the intimacy created by pendant lights over the dining table and the earthiness of the rattan – it just softens the space and works really well,” she says.
